Alright. So. I have had these pages finished for months. I started work on two more and then just accidentally put it off for a long long time. I wanted to keep up the bunches of four for consistency, but at this point some kind of update is more important than the amount of pages in it.

Anyway! This was my first time drawing Makino as well as Magra (who I randomly made the bandit’s doctor for the sake of not having to design a new character)! I personally really like how they both came out! Also, cuz I’m not sure if it’s super clear here, Ventus got that oversized shirt from the bandits.

I will add the links to the other pages soon, but I’ve got some school work that desperately needs my attention right now!

I’m trying to organize notes and things for a writing project and feel like I need a better system to group and visualize my material. is there a particular site, strategy, or program you use for your writing? a timelime with adjustable entry logs would be a gamechanger but I don’t like any of the ones I’ve seen on a superficial search

Hello hello! I am well, I hope you are as well!!

I don't do anything crazy myself, honestly I've tried other things, but I actually do most of my writing, including drafting and notes, just in a single document, even for some of my longer (100k+ stories).

I do have some stories that have multiple docs, but for those just having a file folder with multiple Word documents in it works for me. I use Word 2013 to write, and often will just open two documents side-by-side if I'm doing a rewrite or working off notes. I often put things in notepad as well to have an additional little window. But I, overall, work within a single document and just sorta...roll with it. Most of my organizing is in my head, and then it's in notes that I write in a scatter around the main document for the story.

Also a good old-fashioned bit of pen-and-paper suits me well too, I often write base timelines or draw diagrams physically when necessary. At the end of the day, a timeline is just a bulleted list, which basically any writing program can handle.

That being said, I have tried out a few different writing programs. The types that gamify the writing process never jive with me, and the one I felt was closest to what I want is Scrivner! Scrivner is paid, but there's a trial you can try out. It basically lets you have a bunch of documents related to each other, which makes it easy to write and add notes, and to open things on top of each other and such.

I've also heard decent things about Ellipsus, but haven't looked into it personally myself!

yeah, if he's on the scene when shanks gets hurt i think that's the most likely time for his feelings to come out—buggy just blurting out the honest truth in a moment of panic or fear feels very in line with his impulsive nature.

if he's not there, though, if he just hears about it afterwards, i think buggy probably shuts down. completely silent, no visible reaction—at least, not until someone makes a careless comment in his earshot. then that guy gets torn a new one, buggy shouting furiously for so long that he doesn't notice he's also crying until someone points it out.

the fact that we don't canonically have much information about grafting makes me a little unhinged btw. like i imagine that it's a delicate process which requires a lot of training and skill and focus (which is cool in its own right, honestly). i imagine it's something a displacer must choose to do consciously, to share a body part with someone else and manipulate the displacement field that way—

but what if it wasn't? what if the limb craves a body? what if the piece yearns to be part of a whole again? what if all it takes is a touch for the ear or the eye or the arm or anything else to remember what it means to be whole and to latch on?

something about displacement fields allowing separation but still holding the body together. something about you can only become so many pieces before that's all you'll be. something about how you can take yourself apart, but your body itself is asking you not to. you know.

So to answer your question.

I think that really depends on you lol, I know you came here asking for a second opinion, but I feel like this really is just asking what type of tone and what type of plot beats you want to hit with that tone. Also im probably not the best person to be asking this to see as I’m biased because—

I am personally not someone who likes modern AUs. I feel like characters can easily get washed out by the setting. A lot of times, I feel like the modern setting is just creating characters that I have to relearn about when I come to fanfiction to play around with characters in a setting that I already know. It's lazy, but so am I. It doesn't mean modern AUs can't be amazing; I just don't usually look for them.

Also, I like magic and the fantastical, so having that taken away isn't interesting to me. Sure, it can be a good character study, but I feel it takes away the sort of tone from the original and adds another tone to it, which again isn't bad. It really depends on you! Do you like modern AUs and feel it will add something to your fic? Well then, go right ahead.

But being biased as I am, I do believe this is going to be more about what type of tone you want to set for this. Do you want it to be a sort of fish out of water situation? What could happen if life was better? Just confusing the heck out of Zoro and having bundles of misunderstandings? This I believe can be achieved with either or.

You could even go the horror route, Zoro dropped into a world he doesn't understand with people who are like his people but slightly to the left. A world slightly to the left, no Haki, a different type of world government, rules, and regulations he doesn't understand, technology he doesn't comprehend, even thinking about public school and mandatory education, as well as a body very different than he's used to, etc.

But I also feel like that could take away from the badassness that is Mihawk and Shanks and just puts Zoro with two guys. Like these aren't the Warlord of the Sea and Yonko of Paradise he knows; sure, they share the same face and some mannerisms, but it's just Greg and Dave from accounting. Or maybe you want that. Maybe you want that dissonance that the man I know who beat me, who played me, who will not hesitate to kill me, is maybe in another life, in another world, sweet and kind and loving. Or maybe you want it closer to home? Instead of a modern AU, maybe you want to confuse baby Zoro's memory, that his memories have him realize that, oh, this man would not treat me this way if I were not his son.

Again, I am biased, so take this with a grain of salt. Sometimes, when I'm stuck on questions like this, I'll go find someone I trust and talk out the story and the beats I want to hit. Hey, you can even come to my messages. Just rant to me about it, and eventually, the answer will present itself.

Anyways, hope my general malaise and unconnected rambles helps in anyway. Also, I really like your fic. The idea is bat shit insanely creative and I adore bad shit it’s such an amazing idea. 10/10 will be listlessly waiting for more updates.

Maybe, but I don't really consider Pmmm Sonic's existence to actually be in any kind of afterlife-- after all he's not actually dead, he's just kinda... stuck stranded from existence in any tangible universe or timeline. A really, really messed up chaos control would be more likely to face you with him than death, honestly, since chaos control twists time and space. But, yaknow, it's hard to teleport to someone or someplace that you don't know to look for... but super forms and the chaos emeralds and the master emerald are probably the closest to reaching him, theoretically. This comic isn't perfect. I started it back in October 2023, and every time I picked up my pen, I wept.

I bring this to you today, on 9/11, in hopes that you reflect on this day a little differently than how most Americans would. Let it move you to continue to boycott, protest and challenge your family, friends and colleagues. You have a bigger impact than you would believe.

I'd like to bring to attention the fact that the figures depicted above are a gross undercount of the actual number of deaths. I scoured the internet high and low to source my findings and not a single one could break down the devastation that befell an individual ethnicity. Instead, they lumped a bunch of ethnicities together, provided a general timeline, and called it a day, reinforcing the sheer scale of dehumanization propagated in the west. The only consistency between all the articles I looked up was the 4.5 to 4.7 million figure I've included above, and even then, they were all published by western media news outlets... the very same that have been so unreliable and complicit in the genocide of Palestinians today. So I have to take everything they say with a grain of salt.

We are not just numbers.

All of us have ambitions and desires and lives worth living.
